In this interview, Rebecca Tucker from Exeter shares her experience of transforming her smile at Inspired Dental Care. Please introduce yourself.

I’m Rebecca Tucker. I’m a Clinical Physiologist from Exeter.

What problems were you having with your teeth before starting treatment?

So, the problems I was having with my teeth before I came here, I was very unhappy with my gummy smile. My teeth were quite small when I would smile, and I didn’t feel very confident. I used to have braces when I was younger, but I forgot to wear the retainers, which meant there were a few gaps, and I felt it was time to do something about it.

How long have you been coming to this practice, and how did you hear about us?

I’ve been coming to this practice for about 2 years now, and I heard about you through social media, as you have a big social presence online.

What treatments have you had, and can you briefly describe the process?

I have had several different treatments. I started with Invisalign and had routine scale & polishes throughout the treatment. I then had crown lengthening treatment to correct my gummy smile, which meant more of my teeth would show when I smiled.

Were you nervous about the treatment, and how did the team put you at ease?

I wasn’t nervous about the treatment at all. The team were very helpful. They explained everything that I was expecting at each moment of the process, and I felt very involved. I knew what to expect before each appointment, any risks, and I felt very reassured throughout.

How was the dentist who treated you?

I found it amazing being treated by Dr Andre. He was very helpful, explained everything clearly, and was just a lovely person to come and visit each time.

What is life like with your new smile?

It’s amazing. I feel a lot more confident. I find I smile a lot more, and people around me have noticed that I am much happier in myself. In photos, I don’t shy away. I feel like a much better version of myself.

What would you say to somebody who was considering similar treatment?

I would say go for it. I definitely don’t have any regrets, and I think if there is something that you want to do that will make you feel happier, then invest in yourself. It’s quality of life. I would definitely recommend the practice to my friends and family, and I will continue to.

If you could sum up your overall experience in one word, what would it be?
