If you’re unhappy with chipped, uneven, or discoloured teeth, dental veneers can be a simple and effective way to improve your smile. Veneers are thin, custom-made coverings placed over the front of teeth to enhance their appearance and create natural-looking results. At Inspired Dental Care in Exeter, many patients choose veneers to feel more confident when smiling, speaking, or taking photos.

A real patient story: Kate’s veneer journey at Inspired Dental Care Exeter

Before explaining how veneers work, it helps to hear from someone who has experienced the treatment firsthand.

We recently spoke with one of Dr Amish Bhayani’s patients, Kate Vickery, about her experience with dental veneers at Inspired Dental Care in Exeter.

What’s your name and where are you from?
I’m Kate Vickery and I’m from Exeter.

What problems were you having before you came to Inspired Dental Care?
I had two veneers and one fell off the day before my wedding. Dr Amish Bhayani fitted a temporary veneer so I could smile on my wedding day, and then brought me back afterwards to have it replaced.

How would you explain the process of the treatment?
It was amazing. I felt no pain, was very comfortable, and very at ease. I was just really excited to get them done. He removed the cracked veneer after my wedding and talked me through the options. I didn’t feel nervous — I was just excited.

How was your experience with Dr Amish Bhayani?
He was lovely, kept me calm and informed, and talked me through the process. The experience was great.

How are you finding your new smile?
I love them! I would have paid more. I knew the cost wasn’t going to be low, but you really do get what you pay for, and I am so happy with the finished result.

What would you say if someone else asked if they should visit Inspired Dental Care?
Yes, I would say go for it. If you’re not happy with your teeth, do something about it, because your teeth are so important!

Would you recommend Inspired Dental Care to a friend or family member?
Oh, 100%, I wouldn’t go anywhere else now. I love my new dentist.

Kate’s experience highlights something we see often — cosmetic dentistry isn’t just about teeth, it’s about confidence and peace of mind.

What are dental veneers?

Dental veneers are ultra-thin shells, usually made from porcelain, that are bonded to the front surface of teeth. Each veneer is custom-designed to suit your face, smile, and personal goals.

The aim is not to create an artificial look, but to enhance your natural smile by improving shape, symmetry, and colour.

Porcelain veneers are especially popular because they reflect light similarly to natural enamel, allowing them to blend seamlessly with surrounding teeth.

What problems can veneers fix?

Veneers are a versatile cosmetic treatment and can address multiple concerns at once, including:

  • Chipped or worn teeth
  • Stubborn staining that whitening cannot correct
  • Uneven or misshapen teeth
  • Small gaps between teeth
  • Minor alignment issues

Many patients at our Exeter dental practice choose veneers because they can achieve noticeable improvements within a single treatment plan.

What happens during veneer treatment?

Every treatment at Inspired Dental Care begins with a detailed consultation. We take time to understand your goals and whether you want subtle refinement or a full smile transformation.

We assess facial features, tooth proportions, and overall smile balance to design veneers that look natural and harmonious.

A small amount of enamel is usually prepared so veneers sit comfortably. Digital scans or impressions are then taken so your custom veneers can be crafted in a dental laboratory.

Once ready, the veneers are carefully bonded into place, revealing your new smile.

Are dental veneers painful?

Most patients are surprised by how comfortable veneer treatment feels. The procedure is minimally invasive, and comfort is always prioritised.

Many patients return to normal daily activities straight after appointments with minimal sensitivity.

How long do veneers last?

With good oral hygiene and regular dental visits, porcelain veneers can last many years.

To maintain your results, we recommend:

  • Brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste
  • Regular check-ups and hygiene visits
  • Avoiding biting hard objects

Patients across Exeter value veneers because they provide long-lasting cosmetic improvements.
