Rachael Redstone – IDC Hygiene therapist & facial aesthetics practitioner

If you have been attending our practice for the last three years, you would have met or seen Rachael in passing. Rachael is one of our Hygiene Therapist’s and the Facial Aesthetics Practitioner here at Inspired Dental Care. Rachael is a particularly special individual and valued team member here as through extreme determination and amazing skill she has completed numerous qualifications and accomplishments in her Dental Career.

In 2009 Rachael graduated Exeter University with a BSc Human Biosciences honours degree. After this, she went on to qualify as a Dental Nurse through undergoing the NEBDN course, which is where her dental career was kickstarted. Once qualified, Rachael completed both sedation and radiography qualifications to further her skills and expertise within Dental Nursing. In 2019 Rachael then graduated from Cardiff University with a BSc honours degree in Dental Hygiene and Therapy. Not only that, but Rachael was awarded student of the year and received an excellence award which is presented by the supervisors of the course for the student with the best overall percentage module results.

In 2019 Rachael joined us and this is where her outstanding time with us began. Rachael has gained a massive patient base and is highly commended by all that has seen her, especially nervous patients. As well as this, being a hygiene therapist means that Rachael can complete small fillings prescribed by a dentist, children’s exams and extractions and in house tooth whitening. Rachael is also heavily involved with all of our Invisalign patients and is a big part of tracking their process through their orthodontic journey.

“Rachel is a wonderful hygiene therapist, always professional and gentle in her approach. I suffer from periodontal disease and Rachel has helped hugely in bringing the condition under control. What I particularly appreciate about Rachel is that she understands anxiety and how that impacts not just dental but hygiene treatments. In the past I would have dreaded attending a routine hygiene appointment but because of Rachel’s approach I arrive feeling confident that I will be treated with sensitivity and understanding” P.D Periodontal patient

Not only being Inspired Dental Care’s Hygiene Therapist, but Rachael also decided she wanted to further her skillset through facial aesthetics, taking over from Dr Andre Faro Leite’s previous role here as he became busier with his orthodontic patients. In January 2020 Rachael went and studied with Dr Bob Khanna as part of a three day course focusing on Botox treatment (forehead, frown, perioral, peri orbital, neck, and hyperhidrosis) and dermal fillers of the lip and peri oral region. (Nasolabial, marionette, smoker’s lines). After this, Rachael quickly realised she had a passion and particular enjoyment within the field. In August 2020 she continued to further her facial aesthetics knowledge by enrolling onto a Dr Tim Pearce lip masterclass where she learnt lip filler techniques using a cannula. Since then, she has undergone and completed three other lip filler masterclasses including one taught by Natalie Page (Russian lip technique). In January 2022 Rachael is scheduled to complete a skin booster profhilo, sunekos training. This is a technique that uses injectables containing amino acids and hyaluronic acid to stimulate the fibroblasts in the skin, producing a collagen and elastin. In layman’s terms, this means it is good to target areas and fine lines and helps as a preventative measure against aging. We are certain that Rachael has a long career ahead of her here at Inspired Dental Care and we urge any patients that are considering any facial aesthetics treatment, to contact us to get booked in for a no obligation consultation.

“Rachael takes time and extra care leaving you feeling so calm and relaxed. Her knowledge she has just shows you how much passion and time she has invested into her job. I wouldn’t trust anyone else on my face!” C.G facial aesthetics patient

Rachael plans on completing another course whereby she will qualify in ‘facial contouring’ including filler for cheeks, jaw and chin early next year.
